2nd Annual Conference of the EPIP Association

CIRCLE/Lund University – Sweden
September 20-21, 2007

Transportation & Communications

Lund was founded at a crossroads, with the explicit aim of enabling it to rapidly become economically viable. The location turned out to be very favorable and, to this day, Lund has excellent communications in all directions.
If you travel to Lund you will probably come by air.

Traveling to Copenhagen Airport Kastrup is the best way to reach Lund. The
bridge connecting Denmark and Sweden makes it easy to reach Lund by the
Oresund train, in about 40 minutes.
The trains from Kastrup leave every 20 minutes and most of them are direct to Lund. In some cases you will have to change in Malmo. The trains are less frequent in late evenings and weekends. The cost of the train ticket is 108 SEK.
Tickets can be bought at Kastrup Airport in ticket machines or by using credit cards.
Timetable

In Malmo you might have to change from the "Oresund"-train to the "Pagatag"-train to Lund. Some trains go directly Copenhagen Airport - Lund

The other airport close to Lund is Malmo Airport (Sturup). It is located about 25 km south of Lund. Sturup airport is only 30 minutes away by car and 40 minutes by bus

From Malmo (Sturup) Airport there is a bus service - Flygbussarna - from the airport to central Lund several times a day.
Timetable

Taxis are available at the taxi rank just outside the terminal. Discuss the price with the taxi driver before the journey. The taxi companies operating at the airport has agreed on a set price for journeys between the airport and Malmö and Lund. The price to Malmo/Lund is approximately 395 SEK.

If you are you coming by car from Denmark there is a new bridge over Oresund. For price information (http://osb.oeresundsbron.dk) and the paying stations are on Swedish side

But in Lund itself, the easiest way to get around is to walk or cycle.
